Nanchang Economic and Technological Development Zone

Profile of the Zone: There are over 6000 enterprises settled in the zone, including 21 Fortune 500 enterprises, 28 Domestic Top500 enterprises, 18 listed companies, and over 200 enterprises with output value of more than one hundred million yuan. The zone now has 20 regular institutions of higher learning like Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, East China Jiaotong University, and etc., 24 scientific research institutions, and 10 technical colleges. There are over 130 various kinds of scientific research platforms at all levels, including 6 state-level scientific research platforms, 94 provincial-level scientific research platforms, and 6 academician workstations. It has unique location and transportation advantages, with full coverage of the modern comprehensive three-dimensional transportation in the Zone. The Zone is featured by the channel advantages for “one zone and three ports”, including Integrated Free Bonded Zone, Changbei Airport, Jiangxi International Container Terminal, and Railway Logistics Park. In 2020, after the assessment by Ministry of Commerce, the Zone ranks in the 31st place among 219 state-level economic development zones in China.

Nanchang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone

Date of Establishment: Year 1991

Level: State-level

Planning Area: 286 square kilometers

Regional Location: 5km to downtown, 28km to Changbei International Airport

Leading Industries: electronic information, aviation manufacturing, health and medicine, new materials

Profile of the Zone: There are over 20 thousand enterprises settled in the zone, including 189 industrial enterprises above designated scale, 560 high-tech enterprises; 23 Fortune 500, China Top500 and Top500 Private Enterprises, and 18 listed companies headquartered in High-tech Zone. In 2020, the total income of the Zone achieved 509 billion yuan, and the operating income of industry achieved 306.52 billion yuan, which made the Zone the only development zone with industrial operating income exceeding 300 billion yuan in the province. We have also built three major sci-tech innovation cities in the Zone with high-standard planning, including University Technology City, Aviation Sci-tech Innovation City and Nanchang High-tech Zone Sci-tech Innovation City. In the Zone are 28 state-level innovation platforms, 13 state-level industrial bases and more than 150 various kinds of technological centers, including 8 state-level technological centers, 16 postdoctoral workstations, and 13 academician workstations. In the comprehensive ranking of national state-level high-tech zones, the Zone has made progress in consecutive six years, ranking in the 26th place.

Nanchang Xiaolan Economic and Technological Development Zone

Date of Establishment: Year 2002

Level: State-level

Planning Area: 33 square kilometers for the built-up area in the core area, and 120 square kilometers for the planned expansion area

Regional Location: 10km to downtown, 30-min drive to Changbei International Airport, 15-min drive to Nanchangxi Railway Station, 15-min drive to national level-one port Nanchang (Xiangtang) railway port

Leading Industries: Automobiles and parts, green food, life health, intelligent equipment manufacturing

Profile of the Zone: The Zone is located in Nanchang County, one of national Top100 counties, carries out the development framework of “one area, four parks and one center”, and establishes four supporting industrial parks such as Xiangtang Logistics Park, Wuyang Prefabricated Building Industrial Park, Nanxin Binjiang Industrial Agglomeration Park, and Hundred-billion Architectural Technology Industrial Park, and riverside business sci-tech innovation center. It has been planned to build several undertaking platforms for industrial development, such as provincial-level auto pars industrial park, Fushan high-tech industrial park, Riverside high-tech industrial park, Jinhu (Yuhu) sci-tech innovation town, and etc., making every effort to build “the first choice for foreign investment in Jiangxi”.

Jiangxi Xinjian Economic Development Zone

Date of Establishment: Year 1991

Level: Provincial-level

Planning Area: 40 square kilometers for short-term core conceptual planning, 60 square kilometers for mid-term regulatory detailed planning, 120 square kilometers for long-term strategic and industrial development planning

Regional Location: 10km to downtown, 25-min drive to Changbei International Airport and Longtougang Wharf, 8-min drive to Nanchangxi Railway Station

Leading Industries: automobiles and parts, next-generation information technology, intelligent equipment manufacturing

Profile of the Zone: As one of the first batch of state-level demonstration development zones for the transformation and upgrading of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, it has formed such three major strategic leading industries as automobiles and parts, next-generation information technology and intelligent equipment manufacturing. The successive construction of high-end industrial development platforms like automobiles and parts industrial park, semi-conductor chip manufacturing base, rail transit industrial park, and etc. has gradually shown the cluster advantages of industrial chain. Jiuwang New Town known as “the gate of west city and the new sci-tech innovation town” is one of five major functional areas mainly built by Nanchang City. In the future, we will follow the development philosophies of taking ecology as foundation, habitation as basis, and industry as soul to build a demonstration zone integrating industry and city highly combining industry, residence and service, and mainly lay out such five major key industries as headquarters economy, sci-tech innovation platform, international trade, digital economy and cultural creativity.

Jiangxi Jinxian Economic Development Zone

Date of Establishment: Year 2002

Level: Provincial-level

Planning Area: 31.68 square kilometers

Regional Location: 40km to downtown, 40km to airport

Leading Industries: Medical devices, modern equipment manufacturing (steel-structure rack, fire control and security, large boiler equipment, auto parts, etc.), electronic information, electrical equipment (low-voltage apparatus, and so on)

Profile of the Zone: It has been planned to be built and developed into the layout of “one zone with five parks”, i.e. high-tech industrial park (planned area of 11.66 square kilometers, 140 in-park enterprises), Wenzhen industrial park (planned area of 5.54 square kilometers, 66 in-park enterprises), medical devices industrial park (planned area of 6.78 square kilometers, 42 in-park enterprises), Jinxian electronic circuit industrial park of Nanchang High-tech Zone (planned area of 4.02 square kilometers), and Nanchang demonstration industrial park for industrial transformation and upgrading (planned area of 3.68 square kilometers). The industrial operating income of Jinxian Economic Development Zone in 2020 was 20.934 billion yuan in 2020.

Jiangxi Anyi Industrial Park

Date of Establishment: Year 2002

Level: Provincial-level

Planning Area: 20 square kilometers

Regional Location: 50km to downtown, 30km to airport

Leading Industries: New building materials, new materials, new energy, textile and apparel

Profile of the Park: It has completed the development area of 14 square kilometers, with 477 settled-in enterprises, including 179 enterprises above designated scale, and 53 high-tech enterprises, and it has gradually formed the multi-industrial competitive development pattern for new materials, new energy, textile and apparel, and fine chemical engineering. At present, the park has built 24 construction road networks, connected 35km power grid, and it has one industrial sewage treatment plant with daily processing of 20 thousand tons. The production capacity of new building materials reached 2.2 million tons, ranking in the second place in China and the first place in east China, and it ranks in the 26th place among 89 industrial clusters in the province. It was successively awarded the honorary titles like “hometown of aluminum products in China”, “hometown of doors and windows in China”, “national demonstration base for the innovation of aluminum frame composite plastic template”, “production and purchasing base of doors and windows in China”, “national demonstration base for aluminum profile circulation”, and etc.

Jiangxi Qingyunpu New Economy Industrial Agglomeration Area

Regional Location: 2km to downtown, 20km to airport

Profile of the Area: The layout emphasis lies in innovation and creativity, digital economy, intelligent manufacturing, medicine logistics, and other modern service industry and high-tech industry projects. We advance the rapid transformation development in the intensive, industrial clustered and industrial technological way, and such four module functional areas have been formed as the industrial area of intelligent manufacturing, the industrial area of modern medicine logistics, the Gaochao Lake new economy industrial area and the industrial area of modern agricultural products logistics. Up till now, there are more than 2490 registered enterprises in the agglomeration area, with more than 20 thousand employees.

Jiangxi Qingshanhu District High-tech Industrial Park

Date of Establishment: Year 2001

Planning Area: 21.5 square kilometers

Regional Location: 3km to downtown, 20km to airport

Leading Industries: modern knitwear and textile, electronic information

Profile of the Park: The Park is located in the east of Nanchang City, and it is the only high-tech zone within the urban planning scope in Jiangxi. It was originally known as Nanchang Changdong Industrial Park, and it was approved by Jiangxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology to change its name in January 2018. There are about 2000 in-park enterprises, having formed the pillar industries like the modern knitting and textile represented by Huaxing Knitting and Bohan Clothes, the electronic information represented by Shenzhen MTC, the e-commerce represented by Hao Ya Hao E-commerce industrial park and Meisikou cross-border E-commerce industrial park, the food and beverage represented by Kalado and Meiban Food, and the biomedicine enterprises represented by CR Sanjiu and Biote. It has successively won the honors like the Award for the Advancement of Sustainable Development of China’s Knitting Industry, National Textile and Apparel Industry Base, China Famous City for Knitwear, Provincial Advanced Industrial Park, Provincial Characteristic Industrial Park for Knitwear, comprehensive advanced unit for six major indicators in the special award for the development of industrial rise parks and zones in Jiangxi, and the first prize in export for earning foreign exchange for the special award for the development of industrial rise parks and zones in Jiangxi.

Nanchang Integrated Free Trade Zone

Date of Establishment: Year 2016

Planning Area: 2 square kilometers

Regional Location: 2.3km to Changbei International Airport

Leading Industries: electronic communication, biomedicine, trade and logistics, bonded service

Profile of the Zone: It is one of the core areas of Nanchang Modern Airport New Town, with three-dimensional integration of multimodal transport of airway, highway, railway and waterway. It was approved to be the designated regulatory site for the imported edible aquatic animals, chilled aquatic products and fruits in 2019. Many convenient measures are offered in the Zone, such as entry before customs clearance, cross-border rapid customs clearance, 7×24 hours customs clearance, and etc. There are many service platforms in the Zone, including China (Nanchang) Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Ecological Base, Cross-border Commodity Exhibition and Transaction Center, and Nanchang Wisdom Foreign Trade Public Service Platform, and etc. The total import and export value of the Zone in 2020 broke though 1.5 billion dollars, with a year-on-year growth of 17%, and realized customs revenue of RMB 770 million yuan.
