With the coming of Army Day (August 1, anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army), on July 31, Wan Guangming, Mayor of Nanchang City, paid a visit to troops in Nanchang and entitled groups to extend greetings to People’s Liberation Army officers and combatants of troops in Nanchang, armed police officers and soldiers, militia reservists, and ex-servicemen. Liu Jianjun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Nanchang Municipal Committee and Director of Organization Department of the CPC Nanchang Municipal Committee, attended.

On the morning, Wan Guangming and the accompanying members went to No.20 Squadron of Nanchang Detachment of Armed Police Jiangxi Corps to listen to the introduction to nature of military service and major tasks, know about soldiers’ training for preparedness against war and daily life, send supplies, and thank their contributions to Nanchang’s socioeconomic development. Wan Guangming said that at present, the whole city deeply learns and implements the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, follows the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee and People’s Government of Jiangxi Province, comprehensively carries out the strategy of provincial capital city guidance, deeply boosts the construction of “one junction and four centers”, and makes every effort to strengthen support and increase impetus for Nanchang’s high-quality development and modernization construction. It is hoped that the troops in Nanchang may continue to comprehensively implement Xi Jinping’s thinking on strengthening the armed forces and the military strategy for the new era, carry forward fine traditions, enhance combat readiness, practically improve support guarantee and emergency response ability, play a significant role in key moments, and support Nanchang’s socioeconomic development as always. Nanchang will also continue to support the development of troops in Nanchang, make efforts to resettle veterans and arrange dependents’ employment and children’s nursery or school entry, and continue to consolidate the good situation of solidarity between the army and the government and between the army and the people.
